Some History about Colon Cleanse

~ Colon Cleanse - My Health Journey ~
Do you know who first thought of colon cleanse in early days? According to Tummy Temple, the first reported use of enemas occurred in the year 1500 BC. The rationale for using enemas was for health purposes. It was used to ward off diseases and the stop the onset of health problems.
Wikipedia mentions that the earliest colon cleansing documentation was in the Eber’s Papyrus, a medical document created by the Egyptians. However, this site also goes on to state that not only enemas were used, but also herbal concoctions.
In our current world, we have advanced medical treatments, multiple pharmaceuticals and medical specialists who treat every known ache and pain. So why should we even think of cleaning the colon using natural therapies?
Here’s what I can think of. Pharmaceuticals are unnatural drugs, created to ease one symptom, but many times causing risky side effects. Advanced medical treatments are expensive and are considered reactive in nature. By cleaning the colon using natural herbs, supplements or with the use of enemas and colonics, we can be proactive instead. The side effects of natural treatment are generally minimal and many times linked to improper usage.
In addition, many people are not comfortable discussing bowel movements, fecal matter and colon cleansing techniques. For some reason, these topics have become impolite to discuss in social conversations. But – this doesn’t make sense. If you hit your thumb with a hammer, doesn’t it affect your whole body, including your emotions? So – why should we treat our colons as something to be ignored or shameful to discuss?
Anyway – it has been well documented that issues with the colon can affect our entire well-being. And – it has been well documented that proactive treatment using natural remedies can ensure we retain a healthy colon. So – let’s do it!
